If you have been hesitating about being active on LinkedIn, a recent interview of one of my clients might give you a BIG reason for investing in your brand.
You don't know, who is looking at your activity.
They may never engage with you but you are becoming a familiar face.
Now imagine attending an interview where the person is already warm to you. That is what LinkedIn helps you to do at scale.
Back to my client.
He was a senior-level leader who felt LinkedIn activity is for people running businesses or who are not busy at work...
After a few conversations, he agreed to write a post. It was from an industry event he attended and also some pics.
The following Monday he was scheduled for an interview with the C-suite functional leader..
And the interview opened with: "I saw your post and you were with XXX. We worked together for many years." And for the first 10-15 mins the interview focused on the event, Industry Connects in Asia
When I was debriefing with the client, he expressed how he has never interviewed like this...
It was absolutely conversational and more like people catching up, the interviewer sharing his expectations and my client sharing his relevant experiences and asking questions...
Well, he is now in the final stages of negotiation.
So, while LinkedIn activity may not make you a Top Voice, it can definitely put you in front of the right people!
